2025 Consultants Club: Meet Kelsey Sexton, CPA! 

We’re thrilled to celebrate Kelsey Sexton’s incredible achievements as she joins the prestigious 2025 Consultants Club at Cox Consulting Network! Since joining CCN in 2022, Kelsey has quickly made her mark as an outstanding consultant, delivering exceptional results, forging lasting client relationships, and finding the perfect balance between professional success and personal fulfillment. Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Kelsey’s inspiring journey, her expertise, and the freedom consulting with CCN has given her.

A Journey of Discovery: From Pre-Vet to CPA 

Kelsey’s career path wasn’t always focused on numbers. In fact, she spent her childhood dreaming of becoming a veterinarian. But after a pivotal moment of shadowing a vet during college, she realized that blood and animals didn’t mix for her! That moment sparked a shift that would lead Kelsey to her true passion: accounting.

“I loved the black-and-white nature of accounting,” Kelsey shares. “It felt like everything could be organized and put into a neat box. I knew right away this was my path.”

After graduating from Texas A&M, Kelsey’s career began at PwC in Houston, where she honed her skills working with private clients in audit. The exposure she gained at PwC was invaluable, and it set the stage for her next move—transitioning to industry roles before discovering consulting.

Why CCN?  

When Kelsey became a mom, she realized full-time work wasn’t offering her the work-life balance she craved. That’s when a friend and fellow CCN consultant introduced her to the world of consulting at CCN.Kelsey was immediately drawn to the flexibility and independence that CCN offers, allowing her to balance a thriving career and family life.

“Joining CCN was the best decision I could have made,” says Kelsey. “I can work part-time, earn more than I did in my previous full-time role, and still have the time to be a mom and enjoy life outside of work.”

This balance between career and family has been a game-changer for Kelsey, and it’s a perfect example of why CCN’s model works—empowering consultants to flourish both professionally and personally.

Consulting with Impact: Kelsey’s Role at CCN  

Kelsey’s work at a major tech company since 2022 has been a true testament to her adaptability and expertise. What started as a broad role has evolved into her owning the cash processes, becoming the go-to expert for this critical area.

“Even though I’m working with the same client, the projects always stay fresh, and I get to continue building new skills. It’s the perfect mix of stability and change,” Kelsey says.

Her ability to foster strong relationships while demonstrating technical expertise has made her an invaluable asset to her client and a standout within CCN’s community.

Life Outside of Work: Embracing Family and Adventure  

Kelsey’s life outside of work is just as vibrant as her professional career. Living on six acres outside of Austin with her husband and three children, she enjoys raising chickens, hiking with her family, and making the most of every moment.

“I wouldn’t be able to take six months off for maternity leave anywhere else,” Kelsey reflects. “CCN really supports its consultants in making family a priority.”

Kelsey and her family also love to travel, with memorable trips to Maine, Montana, and an unforgettable safari in Africa. Her passion for animals comes full circle in her travel adventures, and it’s clear that Kelsey’s love for life extends beyond her work.
