At CCN, we’re all about celebrating the incredible talent that fuels our community—and Amy Byron, CPA, is a shining example of what makes our team so exceptional. With over 30 years in accounting and finance, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge to every project she tackles, all while mastering the art of work-life balance. We’re thrilled to congratulate Amy on her well-deserved induction into the 2025 Consultants Club—she truly embodies everything we value at CCN!

A Path Less Traveled: From Surgeon Dreams to Accounting Success

Amy’s path to accounting wasn’t conventional. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a surgeon but soon realized that her love for math and science could lead her elsewhere. “I was always the math and science kid,” she shares. “But I also wanted to enjoy life, which is tough to do in medical school.” After an internship at her mother’s company sparked her interest in accounting, Amy decided to pivot her career plans. “Even though I was just doing bookkeeping at the time, I realized I had a natural knack for it,” Amy recalls.

Her career in accounting quickly flourished, and she became an expert in integrating systems and technology into financial projects, bridging the gap between accounting and tech.

From Corporate Grind to Consulting: Embracing Flexibility and New Challenges

After years of burnout from fast-paced corporate roles, Amy sought a change. “The pace was insane, and it felt like I worked for multiple companies in one,” she reflects. Consulting offered her the freedom to take on new challenges without the pressure of a full-time job. “What I love about consulting is the variety,” Amy says. “If I’m not challenged, I’m not interested. But with consulting, I get to dive into different assignments, solve complex problems, and still have the flexibility to enjoy life on my terms.”

Amy was drawn to CCN’s independent community model, which gives consultants the freedom to manage their schedules while working on meaningful projects. “At CCN, you get the best of both worlds,” she says. “You’re trusted to take on challenges and given the freedom to succeed.” One of her most rewarding projects at CCN was working with a large tech client to streamline the legal entity onboarding process for their data centers. “It was such an exciting challenge,” Amy recalls. “I loved the autonomy to drive the project and make a real impact.”

Work-Life Balance: The Consultant’s Dream

For Amy, consulting isn’t just about the work—it’s about the freedom to live life on her own terms. Whether it’s taking a few weeks off to travel or working flexible hours on a project, Amy values the balance that consulting provides. “I’ve worked long hours in the past, but now I can really enjoy life,” she says. “I’m going on my first big vacation in years—a 10-day cruise with my husband. Consulting gives me the ability to take a break when I need it, something I didn’t have in my full-time roles.”

Amy’s Impact: Solving Complex Problems, One Project at a Time

Amy’s blend of accounting acumen and tech-savvy solutions has made her a sought-after consultant. At her most recent project, she was responsible for creating policies and automating processes, saving the company 60 hours a week. “The kind of impact you can make as a consultant is what keeps me going,” she says. “I get to solve real-world problems across industries, and I always feel like I’m making a difference.”

Life Beyond Work: Passion, Flexibility, and Fun

When Amy isn’t solving accounting challenges, she’s living life to the fullest. Whether she’s spending time on the lake with friends, skiing in Whistler, or volunteering with HOA boards, Amy’s passion for life extends far beyond her professional achievements. “I’ve always been into travel, and I’m getting back into it now,” she shares. “Consulting allows me to spend time with my family and live a fulfilling life without work taking over.”
